Meals

A daily contribution equal to 50 % of the price of lunch for all employees in a modern refurbished canteen with a choice of several served hot meals or cold meals from a vending machine, which is available non-stop, i.e. also for night and weekend shifts, including the chance to use a vending machine for food and drinks.

One week’s holiday in addition to the state-guaranteed four weeks for all employees so you get a nice 25 days off work each year.

Social programmes

A friend in need is a friend indeed!

The Bochemie solidarity programme to support socially disadvantaged employees and/or their families.

Employees of our company can directly suggest a particular colleague to be included in this solidarity programme. From the people put forward the company management selects a maximum of ten colleagues to receive an additional CZK 10,000 in their B-account (cafeteria) in a particular year.

The funds are then used in the normal way and it is up to the recipient what they are used for depending on their specific needs. This could be, for example, for buying medicines at the chemist’s, paying for clubs, language courses or summer camps for their children, buying books and textbooks, paying for driving lessons, a stay in a spa, buying glasses, dental care, vaccinations, etc. or simply for a nice holiday to recharge.

Work isn’t everything

A programme to support employees’ leisure and volunteer activities.

The programme is for all colleagues who in their free time are actively involved in various leisure and volunteer activities and submit a proposal to include their project in our programme. The company management will select one or more of the most interesting or needed ones from the proposals that are submitted. The maximum amount of support is CZK 50,000/year. The amount can also be divided between several projects. In 2020, we supported scouts, volleyball players, TIP KICK table football, the MILI FEST association and Dragon Boats.

Corporate evening

The ideal time to end the working year, for the management’s thanks for the results achieved, for awarding the personalities and team of the year, the best suggestions coming out of the suggestions initiative and awarding the title of Clean Workplace. Over good food and drink, with lots of fun and a light-hearted atmosphere we get to know each other better and strengthen team spirit and our working and non-working relationships.

Since 2010 I have been part of Bochemie, where I joined immediately after completing my Bachelor's degree in Economics and Management. I started as an assistant of the Technical Director, full of determination and enthusiasm for a new working environment that appealed to me immediately. As an inexperienced graduate at the time, I was grateful for the opportunity the company provided.

I have been working at Bochemie as an Independent Professional Accountant since the beginning of 2023. In the previous year, I completed my Master's degree at the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Ostrava (VŠB-TU), specializing in accounting and taxation. I have also already had experience from several trainee programs that I have completed in a bank, in the accounting department of an automotive company and in financial auditing.

I joined Bochemie in February 2023 as a junior energy specialist, shortly after I graduated from Technical University of Ostrava (VŠB-TU), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with a degree in Power Engineering.

I joined Bochemie in 2018 as a chemist in the production of electrode plates for industrial batteries. As time went on, I went through several centers of this production, i.e., I learned to operate the relevant machines at different stages of the production process.

I joined Bochemie in the summer of 2021 as Quality Manager in the ACCU business. I used my experience from my previous work as a production manager and subsequently as a quality manager in the pharmaceutical industry. Quality is about perfect knowledge of working procedures, knowledge of critical areas of points of the production concerned and, above all, about setting up controls so that these critical points are able to catch a potential problem while it is still possible to repair, rework or simply stop the progress of an intermediate product to the next production step. This is because with each production step, the intermediate product becomes more expensive, the most expensive being the recall of a poor quality product from the customer. The main thing that I have always strived for, and now in a different position I am still promoting, is that quality is not just a department overseeing the quality of a product, but it is the way we all work in the company. Because quality is in our hands.

Pretty soon I moved on to lead ACCU production. Hand in hand with the established quality standards, we in the ACCU team have continued to train and improve performance, especially on the assembly lines, and to stabilize performance on the filling lines with a maximum effort to reduce scrap rate. The most important thing, however, has been to expand the skills of ACCU staff with the aim of gradually building a team of people who can handle more than one job and at the same time are as comfortable as possible with the job position. It's nice to see that basically everyone at ACCU can work on multiple operations, which is a big relief, especially for the foremen. A previously unsolvable problem of a particular worker missing can now be solved by moving a colleague from another site.

At the end of 2023, I expanded my role to include production management at our subsidiary GAZ where I now have the following main tasks: Transferring the production of the internal battery section (stack) from GAZ to Bochemie. Completion of the cell welding machine project so that in one production step the cell is welded and tested for tightness and can proceed immediately to the formation. And also to completely eliminate manual welding of cells.

I have to say that in terms of my experience so far, my current job is the most interesting I have ever done. It is a work across all departments in the company, it is necessary to look for solutions, often even non-standard solutions.

It is also very important to me that we ‘Bochemie people’ work in a company where it is possible to talk, discuss and consult about work (and sometimes non-work) matters with virtually anyone. I appreciate that very much and I support such a company culture. I know from my own experience that it is not common in every company.
